What’s the best bed sheet material for me?

Egyptian Cotton Sateen - Lightweight, breathable, and gently structured with a smooth finish. Ideal for all-season comfort and a more elevated feel. Egyptian Cotton Percale - Crisp, cool, and matte with a lightweight handfeel. A breathable option for those who prefer a relaxed, classic sheet. Organic Cotton Percale - Cool and crisp with a matte finish and light structure. Woven from organic cotton for a cleaner, more natural sleep. Cotton Sateen - Smooth, soft, and breathable with a lustrous feel. Thread counts determine the fabric's weight and texture, which can fluctuate from lightweight to midweight to thick.

What is thread count, and does it matter?

Thread count measures the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. The fineness of the yarns and the tightness of the weave influence the sheet’s weight, texture, and breathability. A higher thread count often indicates a smoother, more luxurious texture, while a lower thread count can offer a lighter, more breathable feel. That said, thread count is just one part of the equation.The quality of the cotton, the weave type, and the natural fiber content are equally important in creating premium bedding. At California Design Den, we offer a wide range of thread counts crafted with the finest cotton, so you can find the perfect balance of softness, durability, and performance to match your sleep style.

How deep are your fitted sheets?

Our fitted sheets are thoughtfully designed to provide a snug and secure fit for most mattresses. They feature deep pockets ranging from 15 to 16 inches, ensuring they stay in place all night long. For our Natural Comfort Organic Cotton fitted sheets, the pockets are slightly shallower, measuring 14 to 15 inches deep. Thanks to the all-around elastic that wraps securely around the edges, our fitted sheets can accommodate mattresses as shallow as 8 inches and up to their maximum pocket depth. Depending on the sheet type, we use either a 12 MM elastic for a classic fit or an 18 MM gripper band for extra hold, ensuring a smooth and snug fit every time.

Do cotton sheets wrinkle?

Yes, natural cotton sheets can wrinkle, especially when they’re brand new. Wrinkles are a sign that the fibers are 100% natural. They are free from harmful synthetics or chemical treatments often used to create a smoother appearance. To minimize wrinkles, wash your sheets separately, allowing plenty of space in the washer and dryer. Remove the sheets from the dryer promptly to prevent creases from setting. What do your certifications mean?

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a globally recognized safety standard for textiles. Our sheets are tested from thread to fabric to ensure they’re safe for you and easier on the environment. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading worldwide standard for organic textiles. It verifies that every stage of production, from harvest to final product, meets rigorous environmental and social responsibility requirements. Cotton Egypt Association (CEA) protects the integrity of Egyptian cotton through advanced DNA testing. Cotton grown in the Nile River Valley that meets these standards is awarded the Gold Seal of authenticity. Thread Count Testing is achieved by partnering with Intertek, one of the world’s largest independent testing agencies, which verifies that each thread count advertised is accurate. California Design Den conducts annual thread count testing to ensure accuracy and maintain the highest quality standards.

How long do bed sheets typically last?

With regular use, quality bed sheets typically last 4 - 5 years and become softer and more comfortable with every wash. Their durability depends on factors like usage, proper care, and regular rotation between sets. To extend their lifespan and keep them looking and feeling their best, we recommend following the care label instructions, rotating between multiple sets, and avoiding harsh detergents.

How much should I spend on quality sheets?

At California Design Den, we design and manufacture our own bedding, allowing us to offer premium fabrics without the premium markup. Our sheets are made from breathable, natural cotton with single-ply threads for durability and softness. They’re also OEKO-TEX® certified and meet additional quality standards, so you can enjoy better sleep and better fabrics at an even better price. The cost of quality sheets can vary depending on factors like material, weave, size and certifications. While some premium options can cost hundreds of dollars, we offer a wide range of prices to suit different budgets and sleep preferences. Rather than focusing solely on price, we recommend paying attention to details like fiber quality, thread count and trusted certifications to find the perfect sheets for your needs.

Do you have a physical store?

Currently, we operate exclusively online to provide you with the best deals and nationwide delivery.

How can I change or cancel my order?

We are unable to modify or cancel an order once it is placed. If you no longer want your item, please go to the returns portal once your order has been delivered to start your return process.

Can I change the address?

Orders are fulfilled very shortly after your purchase. Please contact us immediately to see if it is possible to update the shipping address on your order. Email us at help@californiadesignden.com with your email address, order number, and correct shipping address. We will do our best to accommodate the request.

How can I apply a discount code to my order?

Discount codes are entered at checkout. Only one discount can be applied per order. Forgot to use your discount code? Contact us at help@californiadesignden.com with your order number and discount code, and we’ll apply it to your order. Disclaimer: Final Sale and Open box items are excluded from all codes.

My package says it is delivered but I haven’t received it. Where is it?

If your package is marked as delivered but you don’t see it, please wait 48 hours before contacting customer service. Sometimes the carrier will prematurely mark a package as delivered. If it is still missing, please contact us at help@californiadesignden.com.

Can I recycle the packaging?

Our packaging for our sheets is made from recycled paper and can be recycled.

Where do you ship to?

Standard shipping is complimentary on all orders to the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states). Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is available for an additional fee.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders are processed and shipped from our warehouse within 1-2 business days and arrive between 3-5 business days. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information. You can track your order by visiting our order tracking page.

What is your return policy?

All returns must be initiated within 60 days of delivery. All refunds must be issued to the original form of payment. The following items are final sale and cannot be returned under any circumstances: mattress pads, mattress protectors, mattress toppers, and any items marked as “Open Box” or “Final Sale.” Once your return reaches our warehouse, please allow 5 - 8 business days for processing. How do I make a return?

There are two ways to make a return: Return Portal - Download and print your prepaid return label. Email Support - Email us at help@californiadesignden.com with your order ID. For Hospitality purchases, please review our Hospitality Members return policy.

How long does it take for my return to be processed?

Once your return is delivered to our warehouse, please allow 5 - 8 business days for processing and your refund to be issued.

How do I make an exchange?

We do not currently offer exchanges for color, size, or material. If you’d like a different option, we recommend placing a new order and returning your original purchase through our return portal. How do I exchange or return a gift?

We’re unable to accept exchanges or returns on gifts unless you have the order ID number. If you have questions about a gift, please reach out to us at help@californiadesignden.com.

What if my purchase is damaged or defective?

We stand by the quality of our products. If your order arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within the 60-day return period. We’ll gladly replace the product you originally purchased at no additional cost. Can I return an item if it’s been washed?

Yes, we accept returns of eligible items in any condition within 60 days. We want you to feel confident in the quality of your purchase. If it doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll help start the return process. Used items are responsibly recycled through our local partners.

What happens after my item is returned?

After careful inspection, many of our returned items in like-new and usable condition are donated. We proudly partner with Delivering Good to support individuals and communities impacted by poverty and tragedy

Who is eligible for membership?

Our Hospitality Program is open to business owners of all kinds. Membership is granted upon review and approval of a completed application.

How do I apply for a membership?

To join, complete our online application. Once your application is reviewed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a code to access the Hospitality site.
